Director Dr. Donald Moely, announced the concert begins with "Liberty Loan March" by John Philip Sousa. This is followed by a special composition dedicated to the Krasal Art Fair with Moussorgsky’s "Pictures at an Exhibition". Each movement of the composition was inspired by some of the most impressive of 400 pictures displayed in an exhibition that the composer attended. The band will play the following movements and the corresponding images which inspired Moussorgsky: 1. Promenade–Introduction to the entire exhibition hall, 2. The Old Castle–A troubadour sings before a medieval castle; 5. Ballet of the Unhatched Chickens–Dancers costumed as chicks emerging from their shells, 9. The Great Gate of Kiev–The artist’s plan for constructing a gate in Kiev through which will pass the pageant of Russian history. Continuing with the theme of the Art Fair, the band next presents "A Leroy Anderson Portrait," arranged for band by James Barnes. The piece contains some of the popular songs of Leroy Anderson including "Serenata," "The Syncopated Clock," "Blue Tango," and that always popular trumpet feature, "Bugler’s Holiday." The band next features Sally Stine, guest vocalist for the concerts. Sally Stine was born and raised in St. Joseph and currently resides in Lake Township. She is married and is the mother of three daughters, and grandmother of one . Although she has had no formal vocal training, she has been performing locally for more than 30 years. She is probably best known as a "Wedding Vocalist", but also provides music for local restaurants, pageants and programs. Sally enjoys performing a wide variety of music, from country to classical. Stine will sing, "No Place That Far," "Sweet Dreams" and "Over the Rainbow," which was recently voted the most all time popular song of the movies. Her final selection will be "Killing Me Softly with His Song." The band continues with "La Bella Roma" which means ‘Beautiful Rome’ by John Cacavas and concludes the program with answering a request for "Bandology" by Eric Osterling.
