Band begins its 5 concert in 2 days ‘finale’ notes for 2007 season this week end with three concerts Sunday and it’s season closing two concerts on Monday.~~~~~late night "Big Band" Concert 9 pm Sunday~~~~~

St. Joseph Municipal Band Season 2007

  • Sunday, June 24, 2007 7:30 p.m. 
    followed at 9:00 p.m. "Big Band" concert

  • Sunday, July 1, 2007 
    Municipal Band "Princess Diana" concert coincides with London’s, also features Vocal guitar duo "Star and Charlie. "Candle in the Wind" with John Elton’s own new lyrics used at Princess Diana’s funeral to be heard at Municipal Band Concerts Sunday concerts, as part of the Concerts coinciding with the London July 1 concert celebrating the life of Princess Diana

  • Wednesday, July 4, 2007 
    "Patriotic Concerts "Band will honor the Veterans of all our armed services.
    Band does July 4 musical salute for the veterans of all service branches with Gary Cooper featured vocalist.

  • Sunday, July 8, 2007
    Guest performers for the concerts this Sunday will be the Citadel Dancers and Chicago trumpet player Williams Camp performing a trumpet solo with the band.

  • Sunday, July 15, 2007
    Concerts will feature Brinden Brown as vocalist and a special soprano Sax and Trumpet duet will be performed by Christopher Keech, and William Camp.

  • Sunday, July 22, 2007
    Municipal Band features Lighthouse Chorus, Michiana’s premiere men’s a cappella music group. 

  • Sunday, July 29, 2007 
    This week Stacie Detgen will guest conductor the band followed by 
    Special guests, The Misfits,  a comedy chorus from St. Joseph , directed by Joan Nozicka.

  • Sunday, Aug 5, 2007 
    Concert features Adam Wurst, Vocal Soloist, Municipal Band Brass Quintet, Musical
     Tribute to fallen Outstanding Music Educator, Leonard Meretta and Dorothy
     Trachte’s newly published march to be unveiled at the Municipal Band Concerts Sunday.

  • Sunday, Aug 12, 2007 
    Band features Trombone Solo by Gary Cooper and Vocal Selections by Haley Frey,
     The Saxophone Section and a tribute to "Boots Randolph".

  • Sunday, Aug 19, 2007
    Band features guest vocalist Patrick Ross, and band’s flute section
    This concert rained out so guest artist asked to perform Aug. 26


  • Sunday, Aug 26, 2007
    Band features Guest Vocalist Patrick Ross, features flute choir, 
    and Jonathan Korzun will guest conduct. Two more Carousel figures
    to be unveiled at Municipal Band Concert
  • Sunday, Sept 2, 2007 
    guest conductor Alan Mitchell, trombonist of the band and Andrews 
    University Director of Wind Ensemble, and vocalist Michelle Bythrow, 
    who will be joined later in the program by city manager, Frank Walsh 
    for another number. 
  • Sunday, Sept 2, 2007 "Big Band" concert  9:00 p.m. 
    Municipal Band adds late night "Big Band" Concert 
    to normal concert fare Sunday night. 
  • Monday, Sept 3, 2007  close the season
    Final concerts of season to feature Gary Cooper trombone solo and trombone
    sections, percussionist Ron Hull will also be featured and a special appearance
    by the varsity and junior varsity St. Joseph High School Pom Pom squads.


  • 2008 season begins on Sunday, June 28, 2008

 

Regular Concerts begin at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the John E. N. Howard Band Shell in downtown St. Joseph, Michigan.
